I am not one to make New Years resolutions. I cannot keep them; by February, whatever the resolution was I have already failed miserably. But New Years has come at a good time for me this year because I have only been at our new place for two and a half weeks which means I am at a point of a lot of new fresh starts. Therefore, instead of a resolution I am going to have New Years expectations. I pray that God will continue to direct my path and show me more of Him. My expectations are:
- God is going to continue to provide in every way.
- God will continue to lavish His unfailing love on me.
- God will stretch me and cause me to grow in Him daily.
Those are my expectations. With that, everything else will follow.
Psalm 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. (NKJV)
Psalm 25:4&5
Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day. (NKJV)
Jeremiah 31:3
The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” (NKJV)
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV)
you go girl! i made a resolution years ago that i would no longer make resolutions LOL! that is the only one i have ever kept HAHAHA!
ReplyDeletei love your expectations. if the 2 days of this year are any indication, i KNOW that i can expect God to grow and challenge me. You are such a blessing! so glad we crossed paths...
loved your thoughts on the Mary/Zacharias entry. i commented back to you on my blog...
Happy Expectant New Year In Christ
Thanks. That is the easiest resolution to keep I think. I'm glad we crossed paths too, God is so good that way.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this post and your new design on your blog. Thanks for always being so encouraging!
ReplyDeleteIn Christ Alone,

Thanks Emily. I thought I needed to change the spring layout with something more appropriate for winter. :) Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteyes........that is my rule too.......I dont make real resolutions but I do try and get closer to God which in turns effects every other area of my life. Now if I could on get some Holy Spirit inspired energy to exercise and lose the weight I keep complaining about.....while sitting on my duff doing nothing about it.....LOL LOL
ReplyDeleteLife is less disappointing if you don't set yourself up to fail. I try to only make goals I know I can achieve because I am truly motivated and you know you can decide any day of the year is the day to get on track with something. :)
