Bee Photos

It's Tuesday once again and time to post my Sweet Shot of the week. This weekend I took a few an insane amount of pictures... of bees. Yep, bees. There is this great tree in our neighbor's backyard that comes over the fence and it is in full bloom right now. Before you can get close enough to admire the blossoms, you can hear the calm but busy hum of the bees busy doing what God created them to do. I insanely thought to myself, "Oh how cool, I want to take close-up pictures of bees!" and grabbed my camera. Then after taking a few shots dangerously close to the bees, I came to my senses and got my telephoto lens so that I could get close-ups without being so close that they would notice me invading their workspace. (I really didn't want to invade their personal space. An agitated bee would not be fun to take pictures of I am sure.) For a few hours everyday this weekend I could be seen sitting/laying on the ground in front of the tree taking photos as the pollen rained down. I took over 400 pictures! (I love digital, that would be soooooo expensive with film. I was able to delete the not fantastic ones.) However choosing just one to be the best or my favorite is way too difficult. I narrowed it down to four, I think. At least I am posting four. And you get to help me choose which one is the best because I really like all of them.

  11. Iz skeered of bees.

I think I would have gone for the telephoto from the start, because they are gorgeous - but I prefer them doing their important work at a safe distance from me.

    Awesome.
