P52 Challenge: Made With Love

This week's Project 52's theme is: Made With Love

Every year, we decorate gingerbread men at Christmas time. This year, we never got it done, I baked the cookies but time got away from us. So, I froze the cookies for a later date. ((Side note, do not freeze gluten free gingerbread cookies. When my gluten free batch thawed, they were as hard as rocks and I had to chuck them. I am baking some today for my GF eater.)) Who says gingerbread men are only for Christmas?

The kids take their time creating their masterpieces. They each only had five cookies to decorate this year and they took over an hour to get them done. But that is okay, it was so much fun and we always have a blast spending the afternoon making edible works of art.

Watching them reminded me how we are God’s masterpieces. We are works in progress and He is nowhere near finished with me. He takes His time with us and lovingly molds and shapes us into something beautiful.

Psalm 139:13-16 ESV
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Ephesians 2:10 ESV
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Philippians 1:6 ESV
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
