It seems every day; God reveals to me something that I still need to work on through my kids. When I find myself correcting one of the kids for their attitude about something I make sure I pray that God shows me the root of this attitude so that we can fully address it and show our kids how to overcome that attitude and walk in a godly attitude. Almost every time I pray that prayer for wisdom and discernment God puts up a spiritual mirror and I see that reflection in my own life. With four spiritual mirrors, I can tell you I have seen a lot of my own ugliness that my flesh would rather me not see. Our kids reflect us in so many ways and one of the biggest things I have learned is that they see our heart and will reflect our heart through their behavior and attitudes. Every day an opportunity presents itself for me to come before God and ask Him to show me what I need to work on. Every day I come again to the realization just how desperately I need God in my life to make me the person He has created me to be.
