7 Random Things About Me
1. I play the flute. Well, I used to. Now the flute just sits in the top of my closet begging me to bring it out. I started playing when I was in the 3rd grade and was in the 1st and 2nd chair when I was in Jr High. I can play practically any worship song by ear. I know that God gave me that gift. I played for worship services at kids camp when I was in High School. When the girls are big enough to hold it properly and press all the keys, I will teach them how to play.
2. When I am really frustrated about something, I bake. I bake a lot as a stress reliever. You know something stressful is going on if you see several pies, loaves of bread, cakes, muffins... in the kitchen.
3. I do the overheads at church. I have been the overhead person at church since I was 15. No kidding. I filled in one day for someone and from there, it become my spot. I have a hard time worshiping if I don't do the overheads. (Overheads for anyone who doesn't know. I put the overhead for the worship song on the projector so all can see and know the words.) I can pull a song out of the file that isn't on the list before first words of the song are uttered. No kidding. I am really fast at it. I can hear the song from just the first few notes of the intro. (Remember Name That Tune? I could win if it were all worship songs.) I also play the tambourine and the cabassa (not both at the same time) while doing the overheads and worshiping. (Yes multitasking at it's finest. Plus Baby G stands next to me and I have to watch her.) God gave me a gift I get to use every Sunday. - A cabassa.
4. I read manuals. You now the user manuals for well, everything you purchase? I enjoy reading them. I think I could make a career out of it.
5. When I was a kid, I would read books until 2 in the morning. I have even read by moonlight/streetlight, by putting my book on the window ledge and reading. Guess what - I have pretty bad eyesight.
6. I married my high school sweetheart. I was a senior when I started dating him. He was in college. :) Yep I was the one who dated a college guy. Which is so funny because I was known as being a little "goody two-shoes," never do anything remotely bad Christian. Kinda ironic, as the girl dating a college guy was usually not behaving herself. But we were very much behaving for the record.
7. I hate traveling. I do. Our honeymoon was spent in town visiting all the little shops. I don't like spending money on gas. Paying for hotels makes me cringe. Packing is not my favorite thing to do. Unpacking is even worse. Driving takes forever. (I haven't flown on a plane since I was about 5 months old and with all the security stuff today, I have no desire to endure that stress) I love staying at home. Less stress and no extra money is involved.
So there you have it. 7 random things about me you probably didn't know. I am now supposed to tag 7 people but as I was tagged three times. I will leave it up to you. I am tagging anyone who reads this and wants to divulge 7 random things about themselves. Leave me a comment if you do so I can be sure to read your wonderful list.
Now I am going to feel compelled to do it, since I was fully expecting to see my name at the bottom of your blog! And besides, I've been horrible about blogging recently, so this will give the chance I suppose!

Blessings!
