Pondering What Did Mary Know?

I have been dwelling on a verse the past week or so. It is really getting me thinking and wondering.
Luke 2:19
But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.
This verse reveals her mother's heart for her son. She knew she had been entrusted with the greatest gift to the world. She knew her son wasn't any ordinary son. She knew she was responsible for training him and molding him and preparing him for what God had planned for him. But, how much did God reveal to Mary about Jesus? It is like that song Mary Did You Know?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.

The blind will see, the deaf will hear and the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb.

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great I am.

I have been entrusted with 4 beautiful little ones. It is my responsibility to prepare them for what the Lord has for them. Just like Mary had to prepare Jesus, though they aren't going to pay the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world. I know that God has great plans for each of them to advance His kingdom, I don't know what those plans are exactly. Only with God's wisdom can I do what I need to, in order to prepare them.
Just what I am thinking about.

  1. I love that song! My home church in Chico, Bidwell Presbyterian, used to do a living nativity all in song called the Tableau and that was one of the songs that was part of it. I actually got a solo in that preformance one year but not that song. I sang the solo in "All is Well". Have you heard that song too?

When you think of mothering that way it sure does give us a lot of pressure, doesn't it, but it's true. As stay at home mothers we are the most influential person in their little lives, they see us the most. It's the most important job there is for a woman in my opinion and not an easy one!

  4. Hi there :) It is good to be back blogging, we couldn't afford internet access for a while so I took a break from blogging, then when we got it back I moved to Xanga, then blogger, but ended up right where I started lol. I missed reading blogs, yours included ;)
Thanks for reading my post, words really don't come easily for me.

My first was stuck too, she was stuck at my pelvis and couldn't descend through it, according to my doctor anyway. So my labor stalled.

Did you have repeat c-sections with the other 3 children? If you don't mind me asking? I have had 2 and will most likely (due to not having a doctor who will do a VBAC after 2 c-sections) be facing repeat c-sections with my future blessings.

    Have a wonderful night:)
